Middle School Youth Gathering Columbus Nov. 4-5 Daylight Savings Time ENDS Nov. 5 Annual Budget & Election of Officers Mtg. 7 p.m. Nov. 6 Chelsea Irwin Missionary to Eurasia Visit Nov. 12 District Youth Gathering Kearney November 17-19  HLHS Red & Blue Gala Saturday March 23, 2024Doniphan and Wood River LWML’S are inviting you and your LWML Groups to the GI Zone LWML Fall Rally on Oct. 14, 2023 to be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Doniphan.  Guests and walk-ins are welcome.  Registration will be at 8:30am with LUNCH at noon.  The Theme is “That They Shall Not Walk Alone”.The presenter is Pastor Lynn Christensen, former Navy Chaplain, now a LCMS Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Ainsworth, NE Ingathering will be money for LCMS ministry to the Armed Forces.  They are asking each group to bring names of their church members that are currently serving in the service.

The HLHS Class of 2024 will be selling poinsettias in 6.5-inch pots at $15 each as a fundraiser for their class gift.  Please consider helping them reach their goal of $900 by purchasing your poinsettia through them this Christmas. They will be taking orders through November 3rd to ensure we have them by December 1st.  You can order your poinsettia through the school office 308-385-3900, by completing the order form from the HLHS website heartlandlutheran.org, Thank you for your support. 


Wednesday Night SuppersLooking for anyone interested in cooking or baking on Wednesday nights. Sign up for a meal to feed choir members, confirmation class plus any church members, all are welcome. Plan to serve around 20-30 people by 5:30 Wednesday night.Please see your emails for a Confirmation Supper sign-up sheet. Or you may contact Jenny Reynolds to volunteer. 

You’re Invited – Rick and Beverly Gilbert’s Retirement PartySunday, October 8th 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.Cairo Community CenterRick and Bev are retiring, Rick will retire after 45 years of driving truck and Beverly will retire after 50 years as a Registered Nurse. Their children invited everyone to come to help celebrate Rick & Bev’s retirement, plus their birthdays and 41 yrs. of marriage. They will be serving pulled pork sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, green beans, salads, and cake to celebrate the afternoon!
